Happy Feet... and I'm so glad it won. It's a film that the whole family really can enjoy and appreciate, and has a nice little message for the young. It's always heartwarming to have films encouraging young children to use their brains. inborn talents, and courage, instead of just their big mouths, brawn and ego, for survival. ;-) I didn't think 'Cars' was so great as a film or story except that it has been pretty much hyped up under the "Pixar" trademark.
The Danish Poet won the Best Animated Shorts and does have a nice little Brothers Grimm Rapunzel 'fairy-tale' push to it. Besides it is longer, in minutes, than the rest of the nominated animated shorts. Actually, I did enjoy "The Little Matchgirl" a lot and thought it is more original and cute than the rest.
