in the 1950's and the eary 60's. But blue eyeshadow and bright res lipstick was also very popular then. If you didnt wear a poodle skirt you were considered square.

They were most popular in the late 40's through mid 50's, but quickly faded out in the early 60's.
Personally, I loved poodle skirts. Well, not loved, but I love them now, considering I wasn't even born until 1993.
I feel as thought I was meant to be born in the 50's, that way I could grow up listening to the earlier Beatles, plus, I loved the 60's style.
But that was just off topic.
