I own 45 units exterior corridor motel in northern michigan where temperature in negative or below 10 is normal during winter months. I have put 3 access points OUTSIDE in each corner of my motel in small wooden box. They are pretty much exposed to very cold weather. How do i protect them from extreme weather. Wooden box doesn't help. I have wrapped up wooden box with clothes which i don't know if it still will help. If i put access point inside the room then its very hard to get signal because of all concrete wall. I have already tried putting access points into the room but that reduce the range tremendously. Any help or tips will be appreciated. thank you.

One of the things that I do for my small business clients who need outdoor AP's is to sell them one made for that environment or I can sell and install one that where the access point is on the inside and you use an external antenna routed to the outside. You already have the AP's, store them inside, run the cable from your AP(s) to an antenna of your choosing (yaggi, dipole, omni, etc.) and you should be good to go with out worrying about weather. If you did decide to use a Nema enclosure, which is a good idea and is required electrical code out west, you would still have to run an external antenna outside the enclosure.

I hope this helps, good luck

Below is quoted from another site (shown in source):

Lots of choices. Actually, too many choices. All are either PVC,
PolyCarbonate, or fiberglass. No metal. Try the "CL" series or
"classic series" which are cheap.

Plastic is kinda nifty because you can mount the antenna inside. Try
to avoid building an oven. I posted some rubbish on how to deal with
heat issues in the past. For example:

you can buy nema boxes. I am not sure who makes them but you can google it. these boxes are specifically made to be stored outside. good luck!
