Ah yes, the eternal debate. Well, of course, the vast majority of fans of either franchise are reasonably normal, functional people with real lives. Even the hardcore ones. As to which fandom contains the biggest geeks, if you limit it to those two only I'd have to go with Star Trek as Star Wars just hasn't had as long to get truly diverse and freaky. Plus, Star Wars fandom has nothing comparable to Klingons.

I'm a Star Trek fan and trust me, no one views me as a geek. I know some hardcore Star Wars fans and they aren't geeks either. It's a proven fact that people who enjoy Sci Fi are prominent in society and enjoy hefty bank accounts.

i would think star trek fans seem geekier....but recently i started getting into it and when my friends found out they would have never guessed. i like star wars too.
