Headshots for acting......8 by 10 with a border and name printed at the bottom. Traditionally black and white and oriented vertically with a white border and black type. But now a days anything goes....in fact color is prefered....

Zed Cards for modeling---a card with a variety of different pictures, sometimes 2 sided with measurements and hight and weight.

The single shot is called a headshot. The group of photos is called a portfolio.

Headshots are what you give to auditors (directors, casting agents, ect.)

A portfolio is something you can have for yourself, unless you plan on going into modeling. You should have multiple headshots to show different sides of you depending on what you are auditioning for, but you don't need a full portfolio.

portfolios. head shots are just that: shots of your head. Shots of your body are called full-body shots. All of them put together make up your portfolio.
