Yes it is safe and has very nice homes. It is close to 59 which is a much better freeway to travel on than 45 (the other freeway in this area of town) because it has a lot less traffic. Lake Houston is very near. Eagle Springs is a beautiful neighborhood. The actual town of Kingwood was annexed by the city of Houston a few years ago though and that has made some changes to the area good and bad. Good things are the HPD that are now patrolling as well as city funds for the area, and phone service is a little cheaper because when you are within city limits you do not have to pay extra for a metro line... bad things are higher taxes and water rates. You can be in the Kingwood area and avoid the area annexed though just by choosing your neighborhood wisely.
The schools are ok, not the best in the area, but adequate. Property values are strong. Quite a bit to do in the area as far as malls and shopping. 2 hospitals are nearby.
If you have any other questions feel free to email.

It is a nice area.
It is a safe area.
It is way out if you plan on working anywhere but there (or maybe the Woodlands). Forget working downtown if you live in Kingwood.

Oh yes!! It is a very nice and safe area!! My dad used to live there and I LOVED it! I wanted to move there.. except me and my dad did not get along. It's about 20 minutes outside of downtown.
