About a week ago, I landed very hard on the ground and bruised the bottom of my foot. The doctor said it is not broken, and they said that it should have been better by now. It still hurts very much. I am going on a trip to San Francisco in two weeks. What should I do for it to become better again?

Get a second opinion. You might have hurt yourself worse than they thought. In the meantime, try ice-packs and/or some pain pills, and try to stay off of it whenever possible.
