Not at all and genes are far more important than society...and other stuff. I think that at least 80% of a human is really programmed from birth. And this equals millions of years maybe of programming. Just the situations are different and the expression of mind relative to society...but the principles are the same. You can analyze the primates and you will see the similarities a great deal.

No. The concept of the blank slate or "tabula rasa" discounts the role of genetics in determining an individual's characteristics. It is really almost indisputable, at this point, that there is a strong genetic influence on an individual's personality and abilities. The blank slate concept suggests that all is determined by the experiences we have once we come into the world. That concept really can't be supported.

While I believe we are affected by society, I also think that, to a degree, people are programmed by their genes toward certain behaviors. So, our actions are a combination of nature and nurture.
