I have met a few women like this who are unfit mothers whom the system keeps giving back there children even though there are people who wanted to adopt them thus take the children off the welfare roles and place them in a better safer place but the courts keep giving back her children. Last I heard her children and she were out living on the streets because she is too busy partying up to keep a decent place for them to live. I helped her out at one time and watched it all.

Thank you every other category except this one they rarely give answers for. Obviously this is a different nicer crowd here.

Thank you all so much your answers are so nice and not insulting. The people in politics seem to be so ugly when I put it there as is suggested by Yahoo. My opinion is it takes real intelligence to be a decent person and I am not very impressed now with people who stick to politics now.

Ms. Chick I believe that was a broad spectrum response not intended for those who have not purposely chosen Welfare as a way of life, or who are not scamming on the system.

I have volunteered my time and assistance to people I met to help their children who are poor but the first people I help are relatives who have children who are poor like Kyla in the photo. Her mother now lives for free in my fathers older house he intended to sell rather than on the streets or in government housing for no tax breaks and their single friend with her four children.

These two single women work but make just above the income level to get much assitance such that my father agreed to help them rather than they live in slum housing they pay too much for.

That goes to show you how screwed up our government is.

I think the deserve one chance to get clean, after that, take kids away and stop all welfare.

Too many people abuse the system and nothing is being done. It pis*es me off that my hard earned money is going to these people.

Welfare was not meant to be a lifelong support system. It was made to give people a helping hand until you got back on your feet. Too many people are using welfare as a crutch. Government needs to take that crutch away and force people to stand alone.

I don't think anyone with with a drug habit should be supported. Obviously child warfare in this particular area is not doing its job. Perhaps you need to report all you know and get the police involved if you have to. If they see that, they will remove these kids from custody. Then they will be placed in foster care, which is a whole new drama in itself. Do believe this, if you are persistent they WILL do something about it. If you give up, they will not do anything.

However, not all people on welfare are strung out on drugs, and with the new reform on welfare, most of them now have to have jobs (except maybe illegal immigrants). Problem is these jobs don't give benefits and don't pay enough to keep them afloat. Therefore they are the working poor. This means they work, but they still need public assistance.

And to the mean and ill-spirited person who would say all people on walfare are "breeding" and having "stupid idiot" children HOW DARE YOU!!!!! I have taught children like this. Some of these people who were on welfare have had spouses leave them all of the sudden high and dry, and they get assistance because they need it AND THEY WORK!!! Some of these women are widows. So I guess they are trifling too? I think not. Furthermore, you are the idiot if you assume any child born to a poor person who has assistance is going to be an idiot. Some of them are smart and will be productive in society. You calling these kids idiots means you are calling some of our highest officials who grew up poor idiots. You are calling many people who grew up poor but contributed great things to society and made something wonderful of themselves idiots. I guess Paris Hilton is your example of smart? She grew up rich. What has she done for our society? Heck WHAT HAVE YOU DONE for our society? How about instead of you pointing fingers and calling people names when you don't know their situation, how about contribute something positive to society and volunteer to work with these kids. If you can't do that, you aren't doing anything with your life except for YOURSELF, which makes you just as much of a problem to our society as they are.

Sorry for all that (to the asker). I had to make that point to that responder who has no clue what she is talking about.

I think this is really sad and no I don't think the government should pay for repeat offenders. I can understand that things happen and you could lose them once, but to lose them on several occaisions is wrong. It would be better for the children, in my opinion, if they were given to someone who can raise them properly. They deserve a better life.

I think the whole Medicaid system should be bannished! The government keeps rewarding these idiots for bad before, and they keep breeding more and more. Disgusting! So now there is a whole new generation of little idiots that will folllow in their parents footsteps.
