Kudos to you kid....my son is a loner too with a few buddies he hangs out with at school and they sometimes come to the house. HE is a bookworm and gets teased at school constantly because he actually goes to learn. But I just tell him like I am going to tell you--keep on trucking. Those people who criticize you now won't be laughing so hard in 10 years when you are making 6+ figures a year and they are slinging fries at the local Burger King and supporting a family of 10

I think that you sound pretty level, outside of being down about not having a social life. But you've found pleasure in your computer programs. The programs that you have learned are not at all simple and you should be proud of that. It will pay off one day. Hopefully at PIXAR. You will find people that find you and your hobbies interesting. Until then, continue to do what you like and if you need help with your social skills, while you're on the computer, you can get tips and ideas into becoming more sociable. Good luck Travis! You sound like a nice person to me!

ok Travis, i would like to say that you are not a loser. Just because you have no friends, doesn't make you a loser. I have a few friends, but in my situation, i am outgoing, pretty, and very good at making friends, and everyone wants to be my friend, but just to let you know, i am bored with people, things, and all events. I am always alone in my own mind because I just feel special. Noone understands the real me, because i feel that i prefer it that way. People are so judgmental anyway, and honestly, I am not into being fake, so most of the time, i actually prefer to be alone, because i enjoy my thoughts. I think that maybe you are ahead of your time, and i don't know if you enjoy being alone but it is a wonderful thing. They call it self actualization. When you know yourself completely and are truly happy with yourself, this is when people of all kinds are drawn to you. Not that you want that, trust me, but it is very true, that people detect positive energy, and are drawn to it like a magnet. Stop thinking that they only hang out with you because they don't mind you around, and think that you are fun to be with and that you have something to offer, maybe even something different that they don't have. So continue to be yourself, and enjoy the computer, because you are the only one in the end that has to like you. xo i hope this was ok. Laurie

ahhh bless ya, i was very unpopular at school till i was about 16 i didnt have many friends and got bullied for being tall and skinny, braces on my teeth etc. I hated school i was such a geek and didnt fit it, i blossomed at 16 and made friends and fitted in but at 18 i moved and 2 years on still dont have any friends, so i know were your coming from! but look at what you can do on computers thats great! you have the chance of a great career, and im sure if you pursue it which you should then you will make loads of friends along the way, real friends. And the fact that you are proud of your life is great! at least you know what you want to do career wise! i aint got a clue!!!! good luck xx

You sound like you have a good life. Maybe you are like me and will get tons of friends after school I was shy as well but I think most people grow out of that. As far as the computer thing... hun that will allow you to get a good job one day. Stand proud. Might be a little lonely now but hang in there. Good things come to those who wait. I rate your life as a must see movie! Two thumbs up and fun holiday fun.

Everyone need friends. True friends are someone who you can trust, share your sorrow and joys and be there when you need someone to talk to. Maybe you can try to mix with people who share the same hobby as you or like the same food as you. What you mention above i think is your aim and dreams. Life is complicated. Perhaps you can create a personality and work towards it. There will be some friends who are willing to accept you and have lunch or dinner together. Then you can suggest of playing on-line games with them and slowly developed friendship with them. Playing on-line games with your classmate may helps.

Sometimes it's hard to be the "quiet" type, especially during the grade/high school years, but don't worry you haven't hit stride yet. I refuse to think you have "no personality" I think, given what you've said, you have big things ahead. Hang in there. I refuse to rate people's lives because everyone is different from every other person. Thank goodness!

Yeah, really don't understand what the hell you are looking for. Life is what you make it to be. If you are proud of yourself than that is what is important. (Bill Gates was a high school drop out introvert, till today he is still one of the richest person on the planet!)
