I work hard all day, cook, bake, clean, etc, and take care of my kids,.... so at the end of the day I like to relax and watch something, usually a comedy, or something "light", but I somehow always end up feeling empty afterwards. Anyone else have a similiar feeling? Any ideas on why I get this feeling, or what to do about it?

It sounds like you don't get to do anything for yourself. After your full time job of taking care of house/kids, you may be looking for something for you. A TV show won't do it. You may need to get a hobby that you enjoy or spend some time with an adult who is someone you enjoy spending time with. Good luck!

In my opinion, it sounds like you're feeling the effects of giving too much of yourself. You do everything for your family, and virtually nothing for yourself, therefore you are feeling unsatisfied. After a while this can become very stressful, and you could possibly have a breakdown.

You should take steps to lighten your load around the house. Instead of preparing meals with regular plates and silverware everyday, use paper plates and plastic utensils so that you won't have to wash so many dishes at the end of the day. Ask your husband to help you around the house, especially on weekends if possible.

I wish I could provide more tips, but I can't. Hope this helps a little.

That's probably because the movie was pretty much just useless fluff. Even after a hard day and you think you deserve it, I think it's just modern society that pressures us to feel that taking time out to enjoy ourselves is somehow a negative thing.

Just ignore your inner self and enjoy your movies.

You're obsessed with making sure everything is done and everyone is safe. You spend so much time worried about others that when you take time for yourself you feel guilty. The only thing you can do is tell yourself that you DESERVE time to yourself. Also, stop watching crappy TV, mmmkay?

Please don't take this the wrong way, but it sounds as if you might be depressed. The "empty feeling" is what I'm going on.

If you think you may be depressed, talk to your physician about it. He/she will recommend some solutions, which may involve exercise, change of diet, change of everyday routine, and/or medication.
