lobbyists are nothing but groups of people that get paid enormous amounts of cash to commit bribary, period!

Yeah? So what? They DO represent somebody...

The fact that the represented parties are tiny minorities vote-wise is not relevant... they could argue that if it was "a dollar, a vote" THEY would be the majority.

So long as you don't make the kind of services lobbyists render illegal, those who have money will pay those who have contacts to represent their side, and will do what it takes to get the lawmakers to pass laws friendly to their bottom line.

And if lobbyism is forbidden, maybe we'll go back to the good old days of straight vote buying, which might be a lesser evil, since some money would be coming back down to the citizens.

Some do and some don't. Pick your issue: gun control, abortion, fair tax, whatever. There are groups like the NEA, Sierra Club, NRA or AARP who receive relatively small donations from their many members in order to lobby for their members' interests.

Yet, no administration has ever
abolished lobbyists.
