I know this kid named derick and he is one of my brothers friends and i would really like to ask him to a dance that is comeing up but there is one thing we hardly talk to each other what should i do cause i really want to talk to him and what is a better way of asking him to a dance to get to know him better right.??

Okay go up to him and start talkin to him. Small talk first then casually bring up the dance then smoothly ask him if he is going if he is ask him if he would like to go with you or not. That is how you do it girl!!

I would first talk to your brother about it since he is 'his' friend, and I've heard that brothers tend to be pretty protective over their sisters.
If and when approaching derick about the dance, how about saying something like, 'There is a dance at my school next week (or whenever it's scheduled for), are you free to go with me?' Something to where he doesn't feel locked in to saying 'yes'. Because people don't typically like to have to say 'no' when a person asks them on a date or such, this gives him an out if you ask him if he is 'free' to go with you or even if he wants to meet you there.
**General precaution: Please do Not allow anyone to get you a drink whether at one's house or at a dance. Even very trustworthy people can have a very dark side, and you don't want to take the chance of someone slipping the 'date rape' drug known as rohypnol or the slang term 'roofie'. And Never leave your drink unattended and take a sip afterwards. Just a word to the wise :)

I had the same problem with asking a girl. First ask him if he's going to the dance. If he say's yes, ask with anyone? Yes again the track ends. If he say's no, ask why not. If he say's because no one ask me to the dance, that's when you nail him. I didn't get anyone. I hope you and Derick get to go to the dance. Good luck.

Tell him you're looking for some new music to listen to and ask if he'll go to the music store with you to help you pick something out. He'll feel cool cause he gets to impress you with his musical knowledge. You'll get to hang out and talk. If things go well there, then you can ask him to the dance.

Just take a deep breath, breath out.... And just casually start taking to him... what's up with u lately? etc. and casually bring up the dance... ask him if he's going... If he's not, just ask if he would be willing to go with you to keep you company and take it from there!!
