Am I crazy for disconnecting our cable because my husband watched wayyy too much tv?
He was mad at first, and now he's ok with my plan for us to watch less tv and do more activity. But I'm starting to wonder if I'm crazy for doing it in the first place-was this rational behavior?
Of course I had already tried a million other things to get him off the couch, including telling him it concerned me, inviting him to do a myiad of other activities. He had gained about 80 pounds from all his tv watching and eating. I know how hard he has tried to lose the weight and be more active, but every time he watched tv, he'd watch so long, he'd forget his other plans or goals. I did it coming from a good place.
He was definitely exhibiting compulsive or addictive behaviors. I had warned him at least twice that I would take this step if he continued to spend entire weekdays or nights on the couch with the tv.

You were completely right! He obviously has no self-control when it comes to the boob tube. You are doing what's best for him and your marriage. Congrats on having the guts to do it.

You need to get that TV connected back on are your going to walk around pregnant constantly. Nothing else to do so he'll want to pile up in that bed day and night have you gaining 80 pounds every 11 months. WHEW!!!!

If it was really excessive then I would, it also drives me crazy during world cup season, rugyby football season, wrestling, formula 1 season, Motor GP and anything inbetween. So guess how much time does he have left...Even stripping beside the tv is not an option to him...men!!!

You were right, I would do the same thing if my husband watched too much TV. He'll thank you when he's thin again!

I did it with my, at that time, husband. He was pi**ed at me, but since I brought in the majority of the money & EVERYTHING was in my name, he couldn't do too much. GOOD FOR YOU!!!
