These are the two best sites I know of to check for LV room rates

http://www.travelworm.com >usually the lowest rates
http://www.i4vegas.com

Both allow you to check up to 365 days out, but no further.

While it's a good idea to plan ahead, don't make the mistake of buying a package deal from a travel wholesaler*. Book your room through the hotel so, when/if you find a better rate you can cancel the reservation and make a new one.

*Unless it's a last minute deal.

These hotels will "price match" online rates you find for their hotel

Orleans - Gold Coast - Barbary Coast
http://www.orleanscasino.com

Stratosphere - Arizona Charlie's Boulder & Decatur
http://www.stratospherehotel.com

Harrah's - Rio - Caesars Palace - Bally's - Paris - Flamingo
http://www.harrahs.com

The Barbary Coast has been sold to Harrah's, but for now is still listed on the Orleans web site.

I would highly recommend the Orleans>if you're looking for good value. >On the strip the best deal is usually the Stratosphere.

You're going to hear from some that the Stratosphere is >old, rundown, dumpy, cheap,

Usually dates and pricing are not available for 8 months before. You have to wait a few more months to get pricing. I tried to get in as early as possible when planning my wedding to vegas and I found that all travel websites and actual travel agencies do not take reservations before 8 months.
