Its probably because you are not using the correct cartridges. Are you using the third party ink cartridges where you go to them to fill it up when your original cartridge runs out of ink. Then yes you will have blob of black ink spurting out because you have to use the Epsom R300's reccommend cartridge. If you dont believe me then please phone Epsom customer support and ask them yourself. Tryst me if it is a third party ink cartridge then the problem will continue. The easiest way to resolve the problem is by buying a new Epsom black cartridge ink and using that and see it for yourself because there will be no more spurting of blob of black ink anymore. And if this aint the issue then i think Epsom will be happy to replace it for you with a new printer if you have it under warranty or the first year free manufacturer's warranty.

hope this helps.

If you used a generic or refilled cartridge they can cause problems also because of the different type of ink. The cost savings of generic cartridges verses the name brand ones is not worth it because if u use them long enough the printer wont work anymore.

Try running the "Clean Heads" option at least 10 times.
Sometimes mine does that too, and I've had to run the "Cleaning" function as many as 20 times to clear up the problem!!!
(Frustrating!)
