my 1st OB always asked me if I was feeling her at least 10 times a day, but now the new OB I have says I should feel her at least 10 times in 2 hours... I think as long as youre feeling movements everything will be fine... I dont count them, as long as I have them I dont really worry... Good luck and God bless!
PS.
If you do want to count your babys kicks, call your dr and ask what you should be looking for.

10 times a day. Once you start timing it The movements should happen within an hour. This should be recorded ONCE A DAY
Once the movement starts you are supposed to time it for a minute. They like to have 10 movements or more within that minute. Other times I have heard keep an eye on it for an hour so I dunno
As long as the baby moves 10 times in the day everything is fine

I love when people gives thumbs down when their are many different answers to this question
Choose a time of day.
Get a watch.
Get a piece of paper and pen or pencil.
If your baby moves 10 times before 30 minutes, you're done.
If you have fewer than 10 movements in 30 minutes continue.
This time lay on your left side.
Eat something.
If you still do not have 10 movements in the next 30 minutes, call your practitione

When doing kick counts, count the number of times you feel your baby move, including kicks, rolling movements, and flutters. Any fetal movements you feel are significant. You should record the amount of time it takes for the baby to make 10 movements. You may want to make a mark for each movement until ten, and then note the time. If you feel no fetal movements after an hour, eat or drink something. If you still feel no fetal movements after two hours, you should call your practitioner.
It is a good idea to try to have some quiet time so you can concentrate on what you are doing. The best time to do kick counts is after you eat a meal-that's when most women find that their babies move more noticeably.
Some practitioners believe you should do kick counts on your own twice a day in the third trimester to assure fetal well-being, while others recommend doing it only if you have a high risk pregnancy or are concerned that the baby is not moving as much as expected.

It depends on your baby. Some are just more active than others. My doctor advised me to know what was normal for my baby and use that as a guide. Most babies have a time of day when they are more active, but I was told they do not have to be moving 10 times every hour unless that is normal for them.
If you are concerned, drink something caffeinated and lay on your left side. The baby should move within 20 minutes. If something seems unusual, call your doctor because it is always better to be safe than sorry!

The pregnacny guide(a big o'l book) I was given by my doctor says to count the movements during a time of day the baby is most active. Pick that same time everyday and you should record 10 movements in a duration of "two hours."
My baby was most active in the afternoon during lunch time. :)

I heard that it was 10 within 4 hours. www.baby2see.com has a chart that you can print out in order to keep track of your baby's movements. Congrats and good luck!
