the broadband LAN area connection that I'm am using at the moment for my new computer, is it as simple as plugging in the lead from my new computer to my old one ? plus can i run both computers of the same connection, any help please I'm only new to this stuff

You could also update the operating system. Get Ubuntu or XUBUNTU. They are free, reliable and up to date. Plus you gain access to thousands of free programs (including the award winning OpenOffice)

You can set up a home network with them easy.
Look up Network, Home Network.
Old school is use the Printer Port, the thingy your printer plugs into, or the COM Port. The little thingy where the telephone plugs into.
You maybe can run all of them on a Router or Hub, that is easiest way.
They should talk to each other. I hope they do. That would be nice.

Basically no problem. Make sure that networking is active on both machines. Also be aware that not all security software will still run on W98 and MS have stopped doing updates.

All you need is a firewall router and you'll be able to hook up both your computers to the Internet.
