Magnet question?

i tore apart and old computer to get the really cool ,strong magnets from the hard drive .I got them out, but there on a kind of small steel base how do i get them off the base ?

Why would you want to do that? There are some very nasty by-products form computers that can potentially harm your health. That is why most people recycle old computers because they are considered hazardous wastes. There are even some companies such as Intechra that specialize in the process.
