I don't know about 80%, but the idea of a market driven economy is a bqad one. There seems to be no good system, none that would be fair and equal to all.

I would say that probably 80% of the people in the US dislike their jobs. That is just an estimate, based on my observations.

Capitalism is a vague term. All economic systems utilize capital: raw materials, labor, tooling & c. The basic difference between economic systems is who is in control of capital.

In the free enterprise system, capital is in the hands of individuals. In the Communist system, ALL means of production or in the hands of the state. Other totalitarian systems, like the Nazi state, allowed some capital to be owned by individual, while other capital was owned by the state, but ALL capital was controlled by the state.

As our government has grown beyond it constitutional boundaries, it has usurped some control of capital. For example, wage and price controls under Nixon are actually a type of facism. FDR's New Deal was based on the facist model.

In the free market, government's role is limited to enforcing laws against fraud and other criminal behavior. Any other government involvement in the economy causes more problems than it solves.

I'd agree that 80% of US workers dislike their jobs. I'd guess at least half of those workers don't make enough money. The other half are either bored or are being treated like a robot at their job. But I don't blame it all on capitalism. What system of employment and production of goods provides employees with not only enough to live on, but provides them with a way of life that is interesting and where they are treated with respect and dignity? I don't know of one!

80% is way high. You seem to think most people relate satisfaction with their jobs with money. Money doesn't drive Capitalism people do. Most people want to do a good job and they like what they are doing. If they are given more recognition they will work harder and thus will move forward in their professions resulting in making more money. Capitalism is not flawed...work ethic is.

Capitalism in USA is not flawed.
the common peoples understanding of it and how to employ it in their lives is.
understand you as a worker Sell your body mind and spirit (sorry no souls yet) to an employer at the highest price you can or will accept. they in return Buy your body mind spirit at the lowest price they can and still get a profit from your labors. is this ugly - no it is life in the natural order. not communism.
the average worker dislikes something about their job but like a dog laying on a nail they will not do something until they are in pain or forced. they don't want to really control their life's just like cattle. they will settle for less because it is comfortable like a 4yr old in a dirty diapers they know it stinks and is nasty But it is theirs.

There is no system on this earth that is fair to everyone. We live in the best country on the planet with the best economy. We are promised by our constitution the right to pursue happiness not the right to achieve it.

You have the right to be successful and the right to fail, what you choose to do with those rights is up to you.

If you don't like it here? Move please.
