i would like to know if any american carriers are in germany?

T-Mobile is not only available in Germany, it is actually a German company. Apart from T-Mobile, there are Vodafone, E-Plus and O2 available as providers. You should check if your cell-phone is GSM compatible.
Although T-Mobile is available, you will have to paid roaming fees. Do not underestimate the amount and inform yourself. The other providers may work together with a German provider too. Compare the best options, before you have to pay too much. Sometimes it is cheaper to by a pre paid SIM Card in a foreign country, to phone back to the US.

Yep T-mobile is in germany... Sprint is CDMA technolgy so it isn't compatible with the GSM network there. A GSM phone would work (cingular or t-mobile) if you get it unlocked (and then you can use it on any carrier there after you purchase a sim card for whatever company you choose.

there is t-mobile, but sprint and cingular are only in the united states.
