Easiest job in the world.
Most people order beers and mixed drinks with one liquor (liquor and soda)
A four count is an ounce. You pour the liquor with your left hand and hit the soda gun with your other hand.
The gun is labeled usually like this:
c=coke
s=club soda
L or 7 is sprite or 7 up
G=ginger ale
there may be other labels that they will let you know about.
Jack and Coke
Rum and Coke
Captain and coke
are very common drinks
A martini sounds difficult but is easy:
Chill a martini glass by putting ice and water in it.
Then in a mixer put in about 3 oz gin with ice, shake.
Pour out liquid from martini glass
Put an olive in and pour gin over olive.
A dirty martini is exactly the same but with some olive juice mixed in with the gin.
Go get a bartenders guide, that will help you out a lot. And have a great time. You will make great money!!!

By you saying bartender i guess your American , I'm in the U.K. and have worked and managed bars for 35 years on and off .
The main thing to have behind a bar is a good personality and if you have that and honesty and a good dose of common sense then your on a winner , the best advice i can give you is be a good listener because you won't believe some of the things you will hear!

Just smile and take everything in.Be a good listener when needed and don't just favour the male of the species.There is nothing worse to get a woman's back up than to be ignored by a bartender who always flirts with the blokes.But having said that,do a little flirting,it will help with the tips. Good luck and enjoy yourself.

Learn all you can about how to make the drinks. You might have a great personality, but the drink is what they're paying for...and wouldn't you rather be known for a job done well?

Buy a bartenders guide. I have one that has good information and the recipes for any drink you've ever heard of.

If they know you don't have experience it sounds to me like they want someone to train up to their standards - not someone who has old bartending habits etc. Just watch and listen to what they show you and enjoy it, don't be afraid to ask!! :)

Its incredibly easy. You'll be fine. Just tilt the glass for less head and make it more upright for more. If you're a girl show your midrif for tips if a boy make eye contact

I would go online and look up mixed drinks and it will give you the recipes for them. Just study the basic stuff for now... jager bomb, long island ice tea... then just learn all the other harder to mix drinks up to whoever would be training you.
