I know some of us have morning sickness and I know I've had my share of it. I'm 3 months, almost 4 and the morning sickness; all day sickness; isn't as bad as it was before but I'm sick of feeling sick all the time...

I was watching this show on tv and I'm starting to wonder if I'm feeling sick ALL the time because maybe I'm dehydrated. I'm pretty sure I'm not drinking enough water and I am drinking a lot of soda's still. Could me not drinking enough water make me feel sicker?

It's usually a vicious circle. You get sick because you're dehydrated, then you're even more dehydrated because you are sick. If you are sick a lot, you probably should go in occasionally to get iv fluids. It helps a LOT. On the other hand, I'd definitely try cutting out the sodas and switching to water if you can stomach it. Even though soda has water in it, your body has to work differently to metabolize and use it, so it's not the same as drinking plain water. Check with your doctor about getting fluids though!

Your body needs a lot more water than before, especially for the sake of the amniotic fluid. If you think you aren't drinking enough, then start drinking more water and see if that makes you feel better. Since you're still in the first trimester, it might just be morning sickness, but why don't you do yourself and your baby a favor and drink more water or juice? Milk is also essential. Keeping hydrated will also prevent leg cramps from developing, which will most likely start happening soon. If you feel that you can't drink more, try muching on fruits like apples and oranges. It wouldn't hurt to try it and see the results.

Unfortunately, I don't know if there is a magic answer to take away the "morning" sickness. There are lots of things to relieve it, like sucking on a lemon, eating before bed, etc...but I think it mostly just comes from being pregnant. I felt sick all the time until about 15 weeks. It got gradually better and didn't improve overnight. Drinking water can never hurt - you need a lot when you are pregnant anyway. For me, soft drinks made my tummy feel better, so I just tried to make myself drink a glass of water before I allowed myself to have a soda, because sodas can contribute to dehydration.

I hope it gets better for you soon! I certainly know how frustrating it is to feel that way.

yes it could, and I went to the ER last week, and was having contractions b/c I was so dehydrated from being sick. I'm 35 weeks but i wasnt drinking enough water and thats what happend. get a bottle, (like a water bottle) and just drink from that during the day, and keep filling it as it empties, and dont keep track of how many times you refill it during the day. I found this helps me drink lots, b/c when im drinking from a water bottle, its just different than drinking from a cup, and you do drink more... Good luck and God bless, start drinking water and try to slow down on the soda!!

Sure could. I had hyper emesis with both of my pregnancies. I had to go into the hospital several times for I.V. therapy and let me tell you after they put a couple liters of fluid in me I felt great! But it would only last a couple days until I would be dehydrated again. The best way to tell if you are dehydrated is how much you are going to the bathroom and the color of your urine. Your urine should be clear and you should be going to the bathroom several times a day. If you are not sure call your doctor and ask them what they think. Better be safe than sorry.

Could be. Your blood supply increases by about 50% during pregnancy, and you need about 64 ounces of water a day. You should cut down on the soda and increase your water. Milk has a lot of water in it, and so does fruit juice, but water should be your main source. I drink about three 20 oz. bottles of water and a 16 oz glass of milk a day myself. It helps flush out your system.

It's possible that you could be dehydrated. Try drinking more water and then some Gatorade. The gatorade replaces a lot of the vitamins that your body needs and helps to hydrate you a lot faster.
