Install windows media playa free. put your cds in your computer and transfer to your media playa, put your mp3 into the computer and choose tracks, make a play list and transfer the songs to your mp3. Its really easy.

MagnaTune is pretty cheap, if you like their stuff. They provide losslessly compressed music and let you listen on the web, which is nice.
