Never been there but, thinking of moving there. Wondering if it's a nice city or not and if it's hard to find jobs or places to live. Will they kill me for not being from there or are they nice people?

I have visited once. The company I once worked with has a distribution center there so I got to know some of them pretty good. The residents seemed very nice. The location was appealing. Reno is a big little town. Although it looked like desert, the area has various geographical and climate changes. Lake Tahoe and California are close. The fact that Reno is a gambling town would seem to lend itself to many job opportunities. This also brings many people from all over the world but not quite like Vegas. You need to check it out personally before you make any decisions. People's taste are different. Take a vacation for a few days or week. Talk with some real estate agents and look at some homes. Travel the surrounding country side. Most people in towns like Reno are from somewhere else so they usually welcome new comers graciously.

Oh my god. My sister moved there with her husband and two sons. If you are a smoker it is fine. My sister works at a grocery store and everyone is aloud to smoke in line and gamble while thier children and crawling out of the carts. The customers buy beer and cigarettes when they should be buying diapers and formula. I hate Reno it really stinks. The only good thing is no taxes. The kids got into some drug problems and the girls they were dating are looser leaches. So so bad Reno is. The boys joined the service to get the heck out of Reno. It is snowing like crazy there and not fun to drive in.

They have an efficient and highly-trained police force. I've been watching documentaries about their day-to-day on cable, called 911 Reno or something like that.
