Remind her of why she was born, and how you two became friends in the first place. Every thing in life happens for a reason and sometimes you just have to take the good with the bad, what doesn't kill you will only make you stronger. The bad that happens in life is just obstacles that you run into to see what you are actually made of as a person and if you let the bad get to you then you won't make it very far in this world. So let her know every one has his or her ups and downs and they do get better.

There isn't a lot you can actually do that will cheer her up if she is really depressed but, you can just be there for her when she needs to talk. That's usually what helps the most is when you can talk out your problems to someone who won't judge you.

Its hard sweetie. I am depressed too. I try to keep myself busy all the time to not think about it. I guess i hate being alone as well. Just be there for your friend. Keep her company even if both of you are quiet you never know when she wants to speak you know? but depressed people need to feel loved and that they are not alone. Thats what she needs too. the least she needs is to be alone even though thats exactly what she wants. Good Luck!

Tell her that you're going to sit down together and start counting her blessings. Start with the fact that you love her and care about her. Then list things like "her home" - "she has food" - and all the basics. Then go for things like her favorite song - and on and on. You should have HUNDREDS. When she thinks she can list no more - tell her to keep going.

Then - read the list together. She should be past her depression then - when she realizes how blessed she really is!!

Theres not alot you can do to help a person thats depressed, they ned to work themselves out of that situation. You can try and help by doing things with her that make her happy, get her out in the sun alot too. My therapist said that a really good thing for people with depression, because of the Vitamin D helps to boost you mood.

Take your friend to do something she wants to do. Keep her mind off of whatever is bothering her. Watch a good movie with her so that she doesn't have time to think about what is bothering her. Have a few friends over too. Friends always make each other feel better in these situations. It's nice to see you're trying to make her feel better. Good Luck!

Listen to your friend with a open mind and open heart then try to show them that life is not so bleak when things are dark and glomy in on area of the room they may be bright and cherry in another . Life has it's ups and downs it;s sorrows and happiness
Life comes and goes but a faith in God and in ourselves looking for the glory of life and not into the dismay of our short comings

If she is deperest she must have a reason. Try to pull it out of her. It may be a family issue, school, frinds, or boyfriend something. She must of been a real important person and something put her down. Find the reason. Much luck!!!!!!!

Well you should have a Pity Party. But don't tell that's what it really is!!! Tell her it's a girls night out or a slumber party with you and your friends. That should cheer her up - who doesn't like a great party with your frends????
