help with windows explorer?

I would like all files to show as detailed listing, not an icon. I can change each folder or file individually by choosing detail under the views pulldown, but I would like detail to be the default view. Any ideas?

Tools --> Options --> View --> Apply to All Folders

go up to "View" on the toolbar and click "list".
