I have a job now, I just want to change jobs. I have a misdemeanor warrant in another state, but I don't ever want to go back there again as long as I live. Will I have a problem getting a new job? I know everywhere does background checks and such.

Be truthful on your application. Just because it isn't in the state you live, doesn't mean they won't find it.

Whether or not an employer will hire you depends on the company policy, not where it happened.

Is this a warrant for your arrest? Or just that you were sited. Many HR people deal with convictions all the time, ask up front if they will allow XYZ according to their company policy.

If this is a warrant that is out for your arrest. Get it cleared up... I won't touch anyone with something that can come get them later, and cause my team mates to be down one.

If you have an outstanding warrant, you might get sent back if they ever pick you up and eve if you find a new job, if you get sent out of state, you will get fired. You should deal with your legal problems, especially since most of the time, a misdemeanor will not keep you from being hired.

you will not have a problem as long as you are honest about it. Put in on the application or say it if asked. dont lie. if you have documentation from this, you may be asked to see them but dont get discouraged. most companies check the background and still hire even if oyu have something in the past but as i said do not lie.
