I have a 5 year old Mini-Rex rabbit. Unfortunately, there are not enough Vets who specialize in rabbit care. While I have always been told if a rabbit is eating and sleeping and seems upbeat and playful, his health is fine, not to worry.

I have followed all the rules - in diet (Timothy hay, pellets, etc.), cage cleaning, exercise, grooming, environmental conditions, etc. for my pet rabbit. But he has had chronic diahhrea for several weeks.

He is not under stress (which I know also causes this) and the Vet specialists I have taken him too, don't do anything other than offer antibiotic prescriptions which are not working.

Any legit advice here is appreciated. Thank you.

what type of pellet are you feeding him? it should be a plain pellet with about 16% protein. try giving him more hay and less pellet, sometimes diarehea in rabbits is caused by them not getting enough fiber, i have also heard that feeding a small amount of toast helps, althought i have not tried this. Diarehhea can also be caused by a disease called enteritis, but this normally only hits young rabbits. i hope this helps.

oh i thought of something else! have you ever dewormed him? rabbit can get worms and they can caused direhrea, de-worm him with piperzine.
