I would most definitely take it out and allow it to heal. Whilst it is healing, make sure to do a sea salt soak (one teaspoon of sea salt to one cup of water) twice a day.

If you do decide to get it pierced again, make sure you to go to a professional piercer (normally in a tattoo shop). They will pierce it with a piercing (hollow) needle. This will not only help it heal better, but it will also cut down on pain.

My daughter has that pierced. It was a little swollen and very painful for many days. She ended up having a big pus bubble grow on that back of hers which I popped with a needle. Keep putting the sea salt on it and if it continues to swell I would consult the person who pierced it.

Of course it hurts! Did it ever occur to you that not everything should be pierced? Don't get me wrong, I'm sorry you're in pain, but next time, go for something with less cartilage!
