Sales tax of 7¾% on a purchase of $250:
-- 250 / 100 = 2.5
-- 2.5 * 7.75 = 19.375
-- = 19.375

Rate of Commission, if commission is $50 and sale is $1000
--- 50 * 100 = 5000
--- 5000 / 1000 = 5
--- = 5 %

Percent of even numbers counting from 1 to 50
---- 50%
---- Because till 50 every second re-occuring number is even.

---- There is a method behind this to find the answer.

Example: Finding even number from 8 to 99.
1. Now if the starting number is even then take the nearest down odd number to it. That will be -1 to any starting even number. If it's odd then leave it as it is.
Therefore:: 8 - 1 = 7.

2. Now subtract the starting number to the ending number.
Therefore:: 99 - 7 = 92

3. Now divide 92 by 2, because every second re-occuring number is even.
Therefore:: 92 / 2 = 46.

So there are in all 46 even numbers.

4. Example: 3 to 77. [77 - 3 = 74], Now, [74 / 2 = 37]

Maybe someone should tell you how to solve these instead of just giving you the answers:

1. Convert the 7 and 3/4% to a decimal (which would be 0.0775)
Then multiply this by the total price $250.
0.0775 * 250= 19.38

2. This one can be solved with an algebra equation. You know
that 1,000x=50

Therefore, 50 divided by 1,000 equals x.

x= 0.05 which is 5%

3. You know that half of them are even which is 25. So what
percentage of 50 equals 25? same as above:

50x= 25 therefore 25 divided by 50= x

x= 0.5 or 50%

Hope this helps and good luck with math! Are you in algebra or what class is this for? What grade?

Just in case you are cheating on your math homework, here is how to find the answers. All you have to do is plug them into your calculator:

1. 0.0775 X $250. 73/4 is 7.75% wich is 0.0775

2. 1000 divided by 10 is 100, so 50 divided by 10 is 5. Can you find what percent 5 is of 100? That is the answer. (5%)

3. Even numbers are divisible by 2. 2,4,6,8,10....50. if there are 5 evens in 10, how many are there in 50? (25) 25 is what percent of 50?

Good luck.
