Okay this may sound weird or even nasty to some but I am just wondering and I don't go back to the doc until the end of the week.
About a day or so ago I started having this milky white discharge, it is a good amount, could it be my plug or is it just discharge? When I went to the doc last week she seemed to think that I may have him soon, he is head down, my cervix is softening up and my cervix is half way down. I know that everyone is different and all that but has anyone else been told that and went into labor soon afterwards? Just curious and ready to meet my little man....

yes i am 38 weeks and have been hearing "soon" for a couple of weeks now. My baby is at 0 station and my cervix is just about completely thinned out, i have increased discharge,, everything but no baby. So all you can do is wait, soon doesnt really mean anything besides the fact that it is obviously soon because you have 3 weeks til your due date...that's soon so they say. Ive come to the conclusion that it is all a waiting game from this point on as i am just as anxious to meet my baby girl

It could have been parts of your plug... although it isnt really white, as much as just clear and snot like.

Its possible you have a little bit of a yeast infection. But I wouldnt stress it until you're able to ask your doctor about it. You make SOOOO much mucus and discharge at the end of your pregnancy.. it was probably that.

I lost my plug at 37 weeks, and didnt have my baby until he was due at 40 weeks. He was engaged in my pelvis at 30 weeks... lol.

It's just regular discharge. Your mucus plug will look like a giant wad of snot. I'm 39 weeks, 3 days, and am dialated 2cm so far and about 50% effaced and still nothing. Believe me, I'm just as ready to meet mine! Good luck with yours!

It doesn't sound like a mucous plug but it sounds normal for end of pregnancy.

the only way that your going to find out is by going to the DR but if you didn't see any blood with the white discharge then i wouldn't worrier so much about it...
