Censorship of thought is not even a possibility at this point. It would be completely wrong and an invasion of our rights. Thoughts do not harm anyone or infringe upon someone else's rights.
I know there are plenty of people out there that would like to somehow control our thoughts, thankfully that is not yet possible

No, because it is extremely oppressive. We'd start moving towards the society that George Orwell envisioned in his book 1984.
Plus, it would be impossible to enforce. How could you read people's brains? Not with modern techology ... yet. And how would you punish them? And, do you have any idea how many people would go to jail for thinking whatever the government defines as bad?
It is impractical, a waste of resouces, hard to enfore, and above all, comprises on personal freedoms to an appalling and unprecented degree.

How can there be censorship of thought? There's no such thing as the thought police. And even if we could censor thoughts, we certainly shouldn't. We not only have the right of free speech, but we have the right of free thought. It is essential that we retain our thoughts and don't let anyone try to discourage us from our beliefs.

Nobody can censor my thoughts. They remain my own.
But if I have to reframe every thought I have about n people before I can open my mouth, to the point that I eventually even get to use those PC terms instead of the n word even in my thoughts, they will have won anyway.
