Take the trade. Both are in weaker divisions, and Santana and Halladay will get you more wins, and lower E.R.A's.

I would stay away from it. The best player in the trade is Roy Halladay (just barely over Carpenter), but Ervin Santana is to much of a question mark. So, unless you believe Santana is going to be twice as good as last year I would stay away. The only question with Verlander is if he was overworked last season.
Additionally, Halladay, Verlander, and Carpenter all have top tier (defensive and game-calling) catchers with them. The Angels have a myriad of young guys hoping to get time behind the plate.

Roy Halladay is a very good pitcher and probably the best in the MLB always going into the half way mark in a season and then starts to choke on the other half. Take it like this year. He was the leader in wins at the mid-way point with 16 wins. Guess how many wins he ended the season with. 17. Now that is just pure choke. Roy won't get you through the important days deciding if you make the big game and he'll choke on the big game if he even makes it. Ervin Santana is a pretty decent pitcher, you could take him, but considering the others that you have, don't make the trade. Justin Verlander is on his way to become one of the best pitchers in the MLB today (young pitchers) Carpenter is just too good to describe his aced pitching. Do not make the trade, I am warning you.

We are talking about Ervin Santana, not Johan. Just wanted to clear that up.
Calling Carpenter an injury waiting to happen and forgetting Halladay's own injury woes is a mistake. Both are slightly risky, but absolutely dominant when healthy.
As far as I know, both guys are healthy right now. I think Halladay is probably better than Carpenter, but not by that much.
The trade essentially is a wash talent wise. So, who do you want your big pitcher to face half the time? The AL East or the NL Central? I know who I'd take.

Wow! What a monster trade! Halladay and Santana for Verlander and Carpenter? I say go for the Cy Young winner and the flamethrower.

I don't thin I would do this one. Verlander and Carpenter are both on very very good teams and will put up a lot of wins. Halladay is a proven commodity, but Santana (although great) hasn't totally proven to be a front line guy just yet. I would stick with Carpenter and Verlander, just my opinion... good luck!

Take the deal. Carpenter is an injury waiting to happen. Halliday also will have a better ERA. I think Verlander and Santana is a wash.
