Anime movies preferably, and ones that you don't need to have watched the series to know what's going on. Things that will kind of make you scream. I have some friends who think Anime is just for little kids, but I'd like to prove them wrong. They are HUGE horror fanatics, so, yeah. Thanks! (Blood and gore is fine, but please no sexual content.)

This might be rather tricky and there might not even be any, but.. If there is I will LOVE you for telling me!

I was kinda disturbed by some of the stuff in the Anime-trix movie. Some of the stuff they had in there was just too human. Like the riot scenes. The story tellers and the animators did a good job displaying some of humanity's more animalistic tendencies. Didn't really scare me, just left me weirded out.

Blood: The Last Vampire (movie)
Perfect Blue (movie)
Wicked City (movie)
Elfen Lied (a LOT of nudity)
Serial Experiments Lain

Elfen Lied is the only one I've actually seen, but I've heard that the others are scary/disturbing. Apparently the first two (Perfect Blue esp) are the best "scary" ones. I would look into them, though, I'm sure there are some adult themes present..

Hope this helped!

A good blood and gore series would be Hellsing, by the way. :]

Ghost Hunt: Its a supernatural thriller about a team of exorcists and whatnot that hunt down ghosts and send them to the next world. I watched about 20 episodes and I don't even see a hint of sexual content PLUS with each passing episode it gets creepier and creepier.

Even the theme music is creepy O.0

Oh, you said movies... well I always thought Grave of the Fireflies was disturbing even though its supposed to sad. But it is a realistic movie because it talks about the aftermath of the bombings in Japan and how two kids are trying to make it alive. This is definately NOT a kids movie. Its like when the news says 'This program is not suitable for children. Viewer discretion is advised.'

Okay I know you said no sexual content but I swear Elfen Lied will change there mind even though it does have sexual content it has massive amounts of blood and killings. Nudity is just a part of it that makes it even more mature.

Oh Yeah If that doesnt work introduce them to HELLSING. Google it to get an idea of what the show is about and go to wikipedia.org for a description.

Try some of Rumiko Takahashi's "Rumic World" series--Mermaid's Forrest, Mermaid's Scar. They're great supernatural stories with a lot of horror elements thrown in.

I also want to say "Uzumaki" but I think that's a live-action film and not an anime...

Rumiko Takahashi's Mermaid Series OVA. The episode of "Yasha no Hitomi"(monster's eye) is rather disturbing. I think it's called "Ash Princess" in English.
It's about a guy who took his dead sister's eye and he used it. But he kept of seeing disgusting images of himself taking the eye... (I hate anything about eyes... Eye surgery freaks me out.)
