It is not that he is spending for the military (Haliburton) but where he is getting it from. He is robbing our veterans hospitals to pay for his war. He is scared to death to even think of the word tax so he drains every other thing we got instead. Soon there will be nothing left than he will find a way to take more from us without taxing us. He's taking money from what little quality televison is left (PBS) and paying for his war. No, my friend, it is not that people are objecting to spending money on the military it is how it is spent and where the money is coming from that upsets people.
"Hermann Goering, Hitler’s Propaganda Minister said; “Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and exposing the country to greater danger”. Sounds just like someone you should know intimately.

Spending money does not make a person a patriot, that is a real simplistic way of looking at things. He's spending money we don't have, fiscal responsibility my rear end.

I don't hate military spending: I hate it when Conservatives get US soldiers killed for no reason other than ignorance...
As a side note, are you suggesting that those who disagree with the government are not patriots? Interesting point, although I suppose Jefferson, Adams, Washington, Monroe, and a few others would disagree with you.

We don't mind spending for the military to defend us, but that isn't what Bush is doing right now. He's covering up a series of lies and distortions trying to prove a point the american public don't believe in anymore. And rightly so.

Its a spending priority issue. we spend 600Billion+ a year on the military. We have massive deficit spending and a huge national debt. Do we really need to spend that much on all the things the fed gov does?
It has nothing to do with patriotism.

Because it is not being spent the way they think. Anything that goes against their point of view the liberals consider wrong. Instead of considering the well being of our country & our security!
