Before Video Games ans TV and Computers.
I would spend time with my parents, visit my grandparents, play with my friends, go bike riding or roller skating, I loved reading, read every western that was ever written, read all of James Bonds books and Ellery Queens books. I enjoyed my teen years. My friends and I use to go out to the stables on weekends and go horseback riding.
When TV was invented I was only allowed to watch what my parents watched [ but then there where only 3 stations ] hee hee
I didn't own a Atari until I was 30 and only bought it then for my Day Care Kids.
Only then did I get to watch TV at night after working all day. Now at 70 I get to answer questions from kids on the computer and late at night I get to play games....

Not to long ago I was grounded from the computer, my game boy, and the TV. During that time I finished my homework and did a bunch of word searches. I also practiced my clarinet as well over the weekends. What ever you do do not go on the computer, watch TV, or play video games!!!!!

Read a book, sketch a picture, build a ship in a bottle (yes it can be done!), talk to his family members, daydream, learn to play a musical instrument, take a walk outside, ride a bike, build something with wood and nails.

Read a book, play sports, ride a bike...
Believe it or not, there was life before the video game was invented.

Based upon your grammar and spelling, I'd recommend studying a dictionary with him. Yeah, I know that's not nice, but I think that it's a great idea.

There used to be text files printed onto leafs of paper and bound between cardboard, sort of like primitive e-books. I don't know what they were called, but maybe if he could find them, he could read them?
