This is a tricky one because there are more chinese and indian people than western people so you need to find someone who has the most people in the world who know who you are.
Depends on whether you allow dead people as I would have thought that Elvis, Jesus, Chairman Mao, Stalin or Mohammed stood a good chance.
Living now that's more tricky. I would have though Nelson Mandela as even the dictatorships like him. I would have said the pope but not everyone knows the new one's name yet. Madonna as a celebrity and possibly Tiger Woods.
