There is no reason why you should not use soap to wash yourself vaginally. However, a small percentage of women do find that some soaps - especially the highly scented variety - can cause irritation. The vulva, the term referring to the labia, clitoris, and vagina, produces a natural discharge that removes the germs and unwanted 'stuff' from the area. This discharge can be white or clear and will smell differently depending on the individual. Douching the area will disturb the natural bacteria and may make you more susceptible to germs. To keep the area healthy, eat well, exercise, wipe front to back, and wash with soap and water.

Good timing. I just watched Oprah a week ago and she had a professional doctor on there. This lady asked, "Is it okay to douche (do you know what that is?) everyday?" OH MY! Said the doctor - NO!! You should douche ONCE a month due to periods. DO NOT put ANY other soap substance in there. We have automatic mechanisms (can't think of any other word) that has to STAY in there to work to keep it clean from any other viral infections. Wash the outside with shampoo and with a wet cloth and NO soap on it - wash the inside (upper and lower). I hope that helps, sweetie. If anybody is smart allic - ignore them. At least you asked - that's important!

I just use the same soap I use on the rest of my body. I use Oil of Olay with Shea Butter for Extra Dry Skin & a bath puff. And I shower everyday.

There are special "feminine soaps" but frankly, they're just a waste of money. Women were washing with regular soap LONG before these "feminine washes" came on the market and no harm came to any of them.

There's no need to report you.

I assume you mean you vagina or vaginal area? If so, you can simply use soap and water when you shower or bathe.

Some soaps may cause you to itch or a mild reaction. It's up to you to discover what brand or type is best for you. Whatever you do, don't douche. This can push germs farther back and cause infections.

It is just like the rest of your body. Clean with body soap and a wash cloth

My mom always swore by shampoo. My grandfather was a barber & always told his kids to wash 'that hair' with shampoo to clean it thoroughly. My 10-year old daughter likes to use tear-free shampoo on her 'business' every day in the shower. Plain soap leaves a residue & doesn't clean that well. Good luck, sweetie!

Just use a mild soap. There is also lots of feminine hygiene products out there to choose from, but a regular mild soap should do the job. I use summer's eve feminine wash, for sensitive skin........ It works great for me. good luck

geez. don't tell me your "downstairs dept" has never be cleaned.... that has got to stink to high heaven.
soap works just like it does for the rest of your body.
how much? you don't need a pound of it ok.
You can go to a hardware store and ask for a chimney cleaning brush... ok, that was a joke... DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME... I don't want to be held responsible for anything a 16 year might do with their brain in "sleep" mode.
