On a job application (online or otherwise) where it says, "Reason for leaving," what is a good reason to say why you left your job when you were involuntarily terminated 4 months ago? This happened to me and i need a real good reason for it.

You may say one of the followings:

1. You did not find the environment of the previous job conducive to your potential to excel.

2. You were not happy/satisfied at what you were doing. You did not enjoy the work.

3. There were not enough incentive for working to the full of your potential.

For a better reasoning, we need to know more specific details about what actually happened.

Cheers.

You have good answers in your profile below. First fill in the blanks with 'better opportunity' and a new employment for four month period. This way the current job check would stop at this new employment. It cud temp/ unpaid or consultancy work...

LEAVE THE SPACE BLANK. I USED TO WORRY ABOUT THIS ANSWER ALSO, BUT NOW THAT ALL OF THE PEOPLE TO WHOM YOU ARE APPLYING HAVE THEMSELVES ALL BEEN INVOLUNTARILY TERMINATED OR FIRED THEY WON'T CARE TO HEAR YOUR ANSWER.
IF YOU CAN'T LEAVE THE SPACE BLANK, JUST PUT "DOWNSIZED" THAT HAS ALSO HAPPENNED TO EVERYONE.

Say you were "moving on" or "looking for greater opportunities" or something like that. I makes you sound ambitious.
