I know cotton can keep you cool and dry. Just wondering where the other fabrics stand like polyester, nylon, acrylic, microfiber, etc.. if you want to stay warm and dry during winter, and cool and dry during summer? I know cotton is definitely your best bet if jogging in hot weather; what about jogging when it's cold outside?

Try the UnderArmour clothing brand.. They have certain types of clothing designed for HOT and COLD weather. Look for HOT gear for when its hot, and COLD gear for when its cold. WHat the material does is.. when you are sweating. it pulls the sweat from your skin and out of the hot/cold gear material. SO lets say you go snowboarding and you wear different layers but your cold gear shirt is your first layer. What it does is once you start sweating it pulls the sweat into the other outside layers keeping your body temp in control rather then getting really cold or hot because your sweat. Its made for anything that is active. One thing is.. those shirts and pants are about $50 a pop. BUT well worth it. They have shirts and pants, long sleeve shirts and long pants.

Polyester is a good base layer, because it wicks moisture away from the skin.

Polypropalene (might be misspelled) is an even better base layer it also wicks moisture away from the skin

I have a terrific lightweight parka with Thinsulate. It's toasty warm & very very lightweight. I never need another layer under it.
