Does the first trimester end at 12 weeks or 13 weeks....all the websites say different things...thanks for the comments in advance!!

It really depends on how you want to count it. 12 weeks is the end of the 1st, 13 weeks is the beginning of the 2nd.

I believe 13 weeks is the start of the 2nd trimester.
It is confusing! I just asked a question the other day about when the 3rd trimester starts...all the websites and books say different things!

It just depends, there are many methods of counting, it depends. 13 weeks is considered second trimester for most doctors.

I say it ends at 12 weeks. If you really want to get technical about it and do the math, it ends at 13.33 weeks, but most people refer to it as 12 weeks.

It is the 13th week the 14th week begins the second term. Thats what my book says anyway.
