I don't know but they should. Tiki didn't want to play because he didn't want to get hurt. He retired so he is no quitter. Barry Sanders is the freaking man so people better look up to him. You look up to people that were good role models and both of these RB's were. They were class acts and Barry was in a tough situation. He wanted to win and the Lions weren't trying to build a team. It all started when Scott Mitchell made more then him the one year. Tell your kids to look up to People like Michael Irvin and Lawrence Taylor or even Bill Romanowski. They didn't quit. I still can't believe of all the NFL players you mentioned those 2. Just don't be too hard on your kids when they grow up and decide maybe football isn't for them or any other activities they are involved in. Just asking that question makes me think your a never cut it highschool football player. You hurt your knee or something?

In a observe... no Barry spent 10 years in the league... TEN YEARS. to place that in the time of perspective. Walter Peyton (non quitter) spent in basic terms 12 years in the league Jim Brown who became into in no way called a quitter spent in basic terms 8 years in the league. Earl Campbell 7 years, Larry Csonca 7 years. Thurman Thomas 12 years. OJ Simpson 10 years. Are a majority of those corridor of attractiveness RBs all quitters? No. Neither became into Barry Sanders. With Barry Sanders besides as Brett Favre human beings are not so mad on the indisputable fact that they they are leaving/coming returned yet extra how they leave/comeback. Like Barry left precise till now pre season and Favre retired/got here returned forced eco-friendly Bay's hand ect.

I agree with most people on here. I don't think they are quitters. I think most people would get tired of having the crap beat out of them 4 months a year for 10 years. I think they are smart for leaving when they were still able to walk and have have career ending injuries or be hurt the rest of their lives. Sanders was an awesome athlete. He never had a great line in front of him or great team behind him. I still say if he would have played for Dallas in the same time frame as Emmit Smith did, he would be the NFL's leading rusher. I think Tiki maybe got fed up with the situation and thought it was time to go. He still played many seasons and was productive. I think most of us may let a little "jealousy" play into this because most of us "regular" guys will have to work until we are 62-65 yrs. old and these guys are retiring in their 30's. But I know if I was making that kind of big money for playing a game, I would do the same and get out while I could still enjoy all that I made. I believe most everyone thinks ALL athletes are way over paid, but it is there for them. Don't get mad because they took advantage of it and now will be enjoying it all while we will be going back to work tomorrow morning.

IM not a young athlete but I"ll answer you question as a football fan.....Would you have rather seen Tiki play until he seriously got hurt? I'd rather see him leave on his own terms. You know I'll miss seeing him play but he did something that a football player rarely gets to do. He left on his own terms. I don't think of Tiki as a quitter. He was just listening to his body and his dreams for himself. Maybe if he had a better coach he'd still be in the game. But regardless I think of Tiki Barber as a very class act human being. I wish him nothing but luck in his new career. I can't wait to see him in his new career the media could use a lot more people like him.

Neither are quitters. Not by a long shot.
Tiki I have less sympathy for, because he didn't handle the situation too well, even though the coaching situation was terrible.
But have you read up on facts about Barry Sanders? How he was treated? And how there was absolutley no commitment to going anywhere with the team when he was there? I would leave Detroit too if I were him.

Barry sanders never mocked another player, and has the reputation of being a humble, honest man.he played for a string of terrible Detroit teams, including a coach who didn't know how to use him,i have never seen a more exacting player,he is the reason i am a Detroit lion fan, i was twelve and the lions were in the playoffs, against the redskins, and he made the most incredible play i had ever seen, which happened every time he touched the ball.football is a business, and don't think the owners had loyalty t Barry,he wudda been cut or passed over with the first sign of rust or injury.

Are you ****** kidding me? You dont know wut ur talking about. Barry and Tiki are no quitters. Barry is one of the greatest running backs in NFL history. Tiki had a great career (especially his last couple of years). They both left the game before the game took a toll on there bodies and it was both personal decisions and u have to respect that. It might not have been the best time for there teams but you definately cant call them quitters. When would they have to retire for u not to calll them quitters?? HUH!!! Think twice before postin a **** question like that........

Barry sanders had every right to leave he was in the game all those years and the loins did nothing to build a winning behind him. i would have left to if i was carrying my franchise all of those years and no one done a thing to help the cause. and tiki has a bad back what is he suppose to play until he breaks it . none of them were quitters in my eyes. do your homework on the player before you pass judgment

One thing tiki isnt in barry sanders league and far as the greatest running back you have to put barry sanders up in the top 5. If you would have put him on any other team that has a O line his stats would have been untouchable...

Your full of crap buddy, Barry Sanders is one of the greatest runningbacks in the history of the game. If he played one more season he would have owned the record. He played 9-10 seasons, for a runningback that is damn good. Considering he got pounded for ten years on a horrible team, he was fantastic. You are a sports loser if you think Barry is a quitter, you need to find some facts before you shoot your mouth off like a jerk. I would definetely look up to him, he is a class act.
