all you yankee fans and red sox fans saying good luck against the D-Rays.... We have a year that the Orioles can bring back the magic and fill the void the Ravens left in January.

The Oriloles will go as far as their pitching will take them. Keep this in mind: The staff is young, but guys like Adam Loewen, Hayden Penn, and Daniel Cabrera will surprise people. The Jared Wright trade could be one in the O's favor...if he stays healthy (remember what he did for the Braves a couple seasons ago?). The line-up, from top to bottom is the key. If Brian Roberts brings the same consistency this years as in past seasons, the Orioles will have a legit run scorer. The rest of the line-up (especially the 3-4-5-6 hitters, potentially Aubrey Huff, Miguel Tejada, Nick Markakis, and Jay Gibbons, plus the possibility of Jay Payton hitting 7th) has power written all over it. The bullpen is pretty stout, probably the only one in the division outside of New York and Toronto that is settled. Chris Ray will become another B.J. Ryan...early frustration, solid results thereafter (and hopefully, no free agent defection). I see the O's surprising some people this year.

All the way where? To fourth place in the AL East? Home in October? If you answered yes to both of the previous questions, then you are firmly grounded in reality. If there is one team in the entire baseball world who is grateful the Tampa Bay Devil Rays exist, it would be the birds.

As long as they are in the same division as the Yankees, Red Sox and the Blue Jays and have to play each of those teams 18 times a year, they don't stand a chance. Thinking anything more than 4th in the AL East is within reach is a fantasy. Sorry.

Bro, I'm a big baseball fan and think Cal Ripken rocks but could you let us all know what you've been drinking? It'll be a great party beverage.
