No it would not - under the rules of FIFA and the US Soccer Federation, among others. LAW 15 : "A throw-in is a method of restarting play.
A goal cannot be scored directly from a
throw-in."
Obviously if a player threw the ball at the goal, and the goalie was forced to make a play on the ball (or be dumb enough to touch it if no one is around), but not stop it from going in (or another player deflects or shoots it in)- it WOULD count.
All of this is true though the ball is "in play" as soon as it breaks the plane of the sideline/touch line,

This will definitely count because as soon as the ball is thown in, it will be in play and so if the the ball is in play it automatically counts.
