Good list, should take Reagan out though, it hasn't been a long enough time to judge him just yet. Lincoln is not number 1. My top 5 would be.

1. George Washinton
2. Woodrow Wilson
3. Teddy Roosevelt
4. FDR
5. Abraham Lincoln

Jefferson would be fifth but his accomplishments as a president are not as great as his accomplishments outside of the presidency. I am also reluctant to put Lincoln #5, because of his abuses of Executive power, though I supose it did keep the country together. Madison should also be considered for the top ten, JFK was not one of the ten best presidents in history, so he should obviously not be considered for the top five. You cannot judge someone accuratly on three years.

Your list looks pretty good!

I'd add - Polk, Truman and Eisenhower as most underrated.

Pierce and Buchanan are pretty much the undisputed worst. Grant, Harding and Nixon earn negatives for corruption. Carter is largely deemed less-than-competent, but there are others.

Jefferson was a great man, but he's remembered most for what he did before he was president.

JFK did good things, but he does not deserve the status as "great" he receives in some polls.

NO ONE should put Clinton or Bush 43 on any list, yet. Not enough time has passed to judge.

I love presidential history! I've been studying it for decades. I'm glad others are interested. :)

I like your list, but I would have Truman in at #5, Teddy moving up to #3, and FDR would get #6
