all countries have paranoid people... this is just one of the only countries that fought and had soldiers lose their lives so that the paranoid people could have a voice. If only saddam, or that kook of a pres. from iran, or even kim jung il could be pres for a day then we might not have to hear them but atleast for now they can hide behind the american flag and have a voice to speak with

Why do you think we are PARANOID?? Is it because we were attacked on 9/11 & we are afraid we will be attacked again? I dont call that being paranoid, I call that being ready. Paranoid means being afaid of something that has not happened & being prepared means looking a head before something happens & being able to do something about it when it does ( as it surly will if the liberals have their way).

Based on what? On answers and attitudes on an internet Q/A board? The entire population of the US is not paranoid, although we are often portrayed that way. And yes, the easiest way to control a population is through fear, but look around - everyone is living their lives. I think you are reading into things.

Your question answers itself. What do powerful people desire the most? More power. If you've got the most, then you've got the most to lose and the most people trying to take it from you. It's not paranoia, it's common sense.

It's not being paranoid if it's real. Since those who have less tend to try to take from those who have more, or those whom they think have more, then it only makes sense to wary of this happening. It would be stupid to do otherwise.
