There wasn't a revolution when the federal income tax regulations were put in place in 1917 nor was there a revolution when the top marginal tax rates more than doubled the current rates during each of the first two world wars.

In other words, I doubt it. Also, with the current reduction in long-term capital gains rate as well as the dividends rate, the people with the most influence (i.e. the people with all the money and understanding about tax laws) are fairly happy right now. Add in the fact that the overall prosperity of the country and I'd say the prospects for revolution are very, very, very low.

Income tax rates are actually at historic lows if you inflation taken into account. There are other taxes, of course, which could arguably be deemed excessive--like sales tax and "sin" taxes on things like cigarettes--but overall we have it pretty good tax wise, especially considering the trillions of dollars that the government spends every year. Tax rates will almost certainly have to go up over our lifetimes, unless the government seriously curbs spending sometime soon. Either way though, no one will revolt. Americans as a group are too ignorant and/or apathetic of the political system.

A revolution is not required to cause changes in the current Federal Taxes. It takes individual citizens to find, then use their voice and contact Senators and Congresspeople with what they want.
Also, getting with groups who believe in the same things you do ie: AARP, Audubon Society, NRA, NIFI etc. will help your cause and give your voice strength. The power of the Pen has never been stopped, so write, write, write some more.

good luck & bless

No. People will moan and groan, but they realize there is nothing we can do about it. There is no way enough people can organize to stand up to the U.S. Government in today's world. Besides, how else can we continue to support all the illegals in this country.
