Jellyfish is not a problem in Greece. I live in Crete and there has never been any jellyfish problem reported. I like snorkelling and I have seen one or two jellyfish, but they are the kind that doesn't sting.
The same applies to other Greek islands as well.
In general you won't have any problems with sea animals in the Greek seas, unless you accidentally step on a sea urchin. That will hurt!

Jellyfish is not so common to find in Greece at any time. You have to be very unlucky to go to a place with a jellyfish problem, which is not permanent anyway, sometimes a ship passes and brings them from somewhere far away, but I don't think jellyfish is something you need to worry about in general in Greece. Now, the water in April might have another, more serious problem, and that is freezing cold!!!

Unfortunately they do not have seasons. They seem to prefer hotter weather than colder, which in turn affects the amount of plankton in the water. Also they seem to prefer some areas that others. Now I have seen some times a lot of them in some areas but believe you me if you try to swim there jellyfish is the last of your problems.

You do have some good answers here, but I would like to add that there are different types of jelly fish as well. The smaller, nearly transparent ones are poisonous and do appear on ocassion. Had a dismal affair with them in Anti Paxoi a few years back, but I haven't seen them since then.
