I think dirk is very popular here in canada, thou nash is our number one, but i do have a friend who worship dirk nowitzki like a god. and since nash was injured for a couple of games, dirk is actually in front of nash in the mvp race [nba.com],

Very popular on the count of his team is the best, and the top contender for mvp, thought he may not win it because of the voters Steve Nash has and how much his team needs him, I believe he is now third in top jersies sold in Northern America,

my belief is that he is somewhat not respected because he is foreign and white. I think that a lot of the black players in the league look at him as just a soft white guy all the while Dirk is lighting them up. But he is easily the most popular athlete in the football crazy town of Dallas. I also think Mike J is a crack smoker!!

He is pretty popular, even here in California. Like most players who aren't flashy REGARDLESS OF THEIR RACE (see Tim Duncan for example, Alex English, Dale Ellis, etc.), they will not be noticed as much as they probably should be. However, many people consider him the front-runner for the MVP race, along with fellow whitey Steve Nash as 2nd.

He's one of my top five favorite players and I'm not a Dallas fan. I just like to see a big guy like that with such a well rounded game.
